About the role
- Responsible for the design, build, operation, and modernisation of enterprise-grade data platforms
- Ensure delivery of scalable, secure, reliable, and well-governed data solutions that support analytics
- Implement data quality, observability, lineage, and governance controls
- Establish and enforce engineering standards across the data and application estate
- Ensure security and privacy by design across all data and application solutions
- Partner with business, analytics, and security stakeholders to translate requirements into data products
- Lead delivery across the full SDLC
- Mentor and coach data and software engineers
Requirements
- 8+ years experience in data engineering, software engineering, or platform engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, Java, Scala, JavaScript, or C#
- Proven experience leading technical designs, code reviews, and engineering best practices
- Solid understanding of Object-oriented design
- Solid understanding of Distributed systems concepts
- Solid understanding of REST APIs and integration patterns
- Experience working as an agile practitioner within modern delivery frameworks.
- Relevant Diploma or B-Degree in Computer Science (preferred) or equivalent practical experience.
