About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist clients with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Help clients with mobility, including transfers from bed to wheelchair, walking, and range of motion exercises.
- Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Assist clients with medication reminders and follow care plans as instructed by healthcare professionals.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to clients' dietary needs and preferences.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, engaging in meaningful conversations and activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided, client condition, and any changes observed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals regarding client care and needs.
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures to ensure the well-being of clients and yourself.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must hold a current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of North Carolina.
- Prior experience in home healthcare or a related field is preferred.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to client homes.
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and a strong desire to help others.
