Lead a team of US-based full-stack engineers building EHR (Electronic Health Record) interoperability capabilities
Guide frontend and backend development primarily in Typescript, React, NextJS, and Node
Create reliable, secure integrations with EHR systems and implement healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR)
Plan, execute, and support multiple projects simultaneously; own the engineering process and output of the team
Recruit, retain, and mentor engineers; provide regular feedback and create opportunities for career growth
Drive technical leadership: set business context, guide architectural discussions, and advocate for technology projects
Anticipate and resolve technical challenges in connecting with EHR APIs, managing protected health information (PHI), and maintaining HIPAA compliance
Champion software quality, communication, collaboration, and compliance with industry and regulatory standards
Work closely with product managers and customers to align project plans and deliverables
Requirements
5+ years as a software engineer building web applications in a cloud native environment
2+ years managing software engineering teams
Comfortable giving constructive feedback on technical designs and code reviews
Skilled in building secure, compliant systems in major cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS experience welcome)
Familiar with containers, databases, and modern frontend frameworks
Knowledgeable about the software development lifecycle; experience with Kanban and Scrum
Skilled at hiring and mentorship with a track record of helping engineers grow their skills and careers
Up-to-date on industry best-practices and tools
Excited about being hands-on in a fast-moving, productive, and supportive environment
Willing to pitch in wherever needed and thrive in a fast-growing startup
Experience working with EHR APIs, HL7/FHIR standards, or healthcare data exchange systems (bonus)
Willing and able to come into either the San Francisco or New York office on a hybrid basis (3 days/week)
Based in and authorized to work in the United States; must indicate visa sponsorship needs if applicable
