About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with the Engineering Manager & Product Manager to craft the roadmap for the ACT team.
- Lead and architect Software Projects critical to Abnormal’s success with a team of engineers through conception, design, implementation, launch & operation.
- Provide guidance and mentorship for junior members of the team.
- Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, and Go-To-Market teams to implement, verify, and iterate on the issues & requests from customers.
- Raise the bar of excellence in engineering, actively contributing to knowledge sharing within the team, and participating in professional development activities.
- Grow into a tech lead role for the AI Security Mailbox product.
- Own key deliverables from e2e within our division's quarterly roadmap and a subset of the key divisional SLAs/SLOs.
- Provide direct leverage for the team by architecting and owning AI-native workflows to eliminate team toil.
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems, or other related engineering field
- 5+ years of industry experience on backend web development & distributed systems, designing & building software applications
- Experience working individually as well as in groups on a regular basis
- Experience working with distributed teams, proficient in asynchronous and written communication
- Experience building features & components from scratch and operating them, balancing feature development work with operational tasks
- Expert with Python and/or Go
- Proficient and bullish about AI tools such as Cursor, Claude, and other AI native workflows
- Growth-driven & looking to increase impact & responsibility over time.
