About the role

  • As an Engineering Manager, you'll be both a technical guide and a people leader.
  • Your primary mission is to build the new, scalable payments and e-commerce services platform.
  • You will hire, mentor, and support a dedicated team of engineers.
  • You will spearhead the architecture and delivery of our new, public-facing API.
  • You'll be central to the discussion and implementation of a new, secure authentication and authorization layer.
  • You will ensure everything your team builds is scalable, secure, and designed for a multi-tenant SaaS environment.
  • You'll be responsible for the end-to-end delivery for your team, managing the technical roadmap and balancing immediate business goals with the long-term architectural vision.

Requirements

  • You have a "builder" mentality.
  • You have experience navigating the trade-offs between greenfield development and legacy integration.
  • You have a strong track record as an Engineering Manager, with proven experience in people management and a passion for developing talent.
  • You have deep, hands-on experience in the SaaS world.
  • You know what it takes to build, secure, and scale a publicly available API and, critically, how to decouple those services from a monolith.
  • You must have a strong background in Ruby on Rails.
  • You have a firm grasp of distributed systems and modern authentication technologies (including frameworks like OAuth 2.0 and standards like JWT).
  • You're a great communicator who loves to "bounce ideas" around.
  • You can translate complex technical concepts and partner effectively with product, business, and other engineering teams.
  • Bonus: Experience in the payments, e-commerce, or "monetization" domain is a significant plus.
Benefits
  • Paid Time Off - 30 vacation days.
  • A competitive salary.
  • A personal Training & Development budget of € 1,500 per year.
  • Responsibility and trust from day 1.
  • Individual coaching and further training to support you in your development.
  • A free BVG ticket.
  • Employee discounts at numerous companies (e.g. at the gym or in online stores).
  • Pension Program with company match.
  • A Culture of equity and Inclusion where you are appreciated for the person you are.
