About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a specialized in-office resource for healthcare providers within a designated geographic territory
  • Engage directly with healthcare provider offices to address patient access and reimbursement inquiries related to AbbVie’s immunology portfolio
  • Educate bio coordinators and office staff on AbbVie patient support programs, access tools, and reimbursement services
  • Educate providers on product acquisition options, including specialty pharmacy networks, specialty distribution, and white, brown, and clear bagging
  • Provide resources and strategies to address patient access issues
  • Advise on national and regional payer policies and utilization management criteria
  • Provide updates on medical billing, coding, and medical benefit claims submission methodology
  • Collaborate with AbbVie’s Access and Reimbursement Support Center on prescription status and program eligibility updates
  • Report payer trends for approved products to Patient Services and Market Access account teams
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with providers in the assigned territory
  • Maintain current knowledge of managed care, reimbursement, and policy trends
  • Cover the University of Chicago north to the Wisconsin border, west into Dubuque, Iowa, south to Burr Ridge, and surrounding areas

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in immunology, or access and reimbursement with expertise in market access and payer account management
  • Expertise in drug acquisition and dispensing in specialty biologics, including Buy and Bill, reimbursement analysis, specialty pharmacies, and specialty distributors
  • Exceptional territory and strategic account management abilities
  • Proven leadership record within current role
  • Functional knowledge of access and reimbursement support service centers
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of coding and billing requirements across Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D and associated reimbursement dynamics
  • Understanding of rules, regulations, and risks associated with reimbursement support services
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and lead without authority
  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
  • Meet safe driving requirements
