About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain strategic business relationships with oncology departments and practices.
  • Increase education on approved product benefits and risks, develop new business, improve resource utilization, and grow sales and market share.
  • Understand and address customer needs while building relationships that provide market intelligence.
  • Build relationships across accounts to benefit patients, physicians, and healthcare professionals within the geography.
  • Partner with in-house and cross-franchise leaders to identify, design, and adapt compliant approaches and tactics.
  • Deliver on-label technical and scientific presentations using approved data.
  • Serve as the lead US Commercial contact for targeted accounts in the assigned geography.
  • Collaborate with Brand and Strategic Marketing, GPO, Thought Leader Liaison, MSL, and contracted SPP partners.
  • Provide site support, address customer issues, and coordinate timely customer support.
  • Build, implement, communicate, and update strategic and tactical business plans for targeted accounts.
  • Facilitate physician and treatment-team training on approved and safe product use.
  • Monitor and report sales progress and provide routine partner communications.
  • Act as AbbVie’s key point of contact for each account and follow up on customer questions or requests.
  • Attend and participate in clinician boards, professional societies, and HCP meetings.
  • Remain current on clinical, market, payer, oncology, and disease-area developments.
  • Complete required training and comply with company policies and OEC/Legal procedures.
  • Gather and communicate business and customer insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain knowledge of approved product labeling and disease states.
  • Use data, resources, and tools to identify sales opportunities and develop program strategies.
  • Participate in relevant local organizational programs with Legal/OEC approval.
  • Demonstrate selling resources and tools to support selling strategies and maximize impact.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be located within the assigned territory, including St. Louis, Missouri.
  • Business savvy and analytical ability to analyze diverse data sets using multiple tools.
  • Ability to define account and program strategies that drive business objectives.
  • Ability to meet customer needs in a complex environment through innovative strategies aligned with company and customer objectives.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to lead without direct authority.
  • Experience successfully developing teams on complex projects or challenges.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Persistence and grit with a strong record of succeeding in challenging environments.
  • Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe-driving requirements.
  • Must meet healthcare industry representative credentialing requirements, which may include background checks, drug screens, and proof of immunization/vaccination.
  • Oncology, specialty, or other pharmaceutical experience preferred.
  • Account management experience in any industry preferred.
  • Specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Healthcare industry experience, especially working with patients or consulting healthcare companies, preferred.
  • People management or other leadership experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
