About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promote an AbbVie product to meet or exceed sales goals in community/private practices, hospitals, and health systems
  • Develop and maintain relationships with neurology, pain medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, primary care, pharmacy, and related customer accounts
  • Comply with company policies, required reports, promotional compliance requirements, and requests
  • Manage AbbVie field assets effectively
  • Identify customer needs related to training, clinical, operational, and reimbursement matters
  • Address customer needs using appropriate AbbVie resources
  • Deliver anatomical and procedural information and training, including injection paradigms, postures, and anatomical insights
  • Provide education and clinical/injection training for residents, fellows, and hospital personnel
  • Collaborate with other Account Specialists to promote products for approved indications
  • Execute resident/fellow trainings within hospital and health-system accounts
  • Use AbbVie sales and data resources to improve productivity and product growth
  • Implement the U.S. Marketing Plan
  • Travel adequately to cover the assigned territory and attend scheduled training events and sales meetings overnight

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred
  • At least five (5) years of technical experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
  • Three (3) or more years of sales experience preferred when using the experience alternative
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Ability to manage complex sales involving multiple decision makers
  • Ability to quickly learn procedural, technical, clinical, and anatomical information
  • Ability to communicate, present, and train diverse audiences
  • Ability to lift/pull 25–100 lb. training models
  • Ability to meet hospital credentialing and vaccination requirements
  • Ability to travel adequately to cover the territory, including overnight training events and sales meetings
  • Documented history of strong sales performance preferred, preferably in clinical, technical, or consultative sales
  • Must satisfy applicable health care industry representative credentialing requirements
  • Must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain required HCIR credentials
  • HCIR requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and specific state or city licenses
