About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and execute post-call evaluations
- Handle objections and consistently gain calls to action to close sales calls
- Serve customer needs and build trusted customer relationships
- Develop and execute call plans to achieve metrics and optimize customer coverage and frequency
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, product, clinical, and sales information
- Share market intelligence with in-field, brand, and sales teams
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers
- Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
- Collaborate with specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses, in-field team members, sales management, marketing, training, customer excellence, and brand-plan stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience required
- At least five years of relevant and equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, including three or more years preferred within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry
- High school diploma/GED required
- Proven track record of success in selling
- Solid presentation skills
- Ability to identify customer style and behavior and adapt selling approach
- Ability to develop innovative solutions and maximize business opportunities
- Leadership and support experience at district, regional, or organizational levels
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing
- English proficiency verbally and in writing
- Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials
- Demonstrated in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
- Strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
- Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
