About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute AbbVie's brand strategy and tactics in the field
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
- Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts
- Create pre-call plans and conduct post-call evaluations to improve sales performance
- Handle objections, concerns, and misunderstandings and gain calls to action to close sales calls
- Build trusted customer relationships and achieve win-win agreements with customers
- Develop and execute call plans to optimize coverage and frequency for key customers
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales practices
- Share market intelligence with in-field, brand, and sales teams
- Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with healthcare providers
- Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
- Operate within AbbVie's business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience
- In lieu of a bachelor's degree, at least five years of relevant equivalent industry experience, including three or more years in the pharmaceutical, health, or science industry preferred
- High school diploma/GED required
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
- Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to identify customer style and behavior and adapt the selling approach
- Ability to develop sales strategies and innovative solutions
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
- Leadership and peer-coaching experience
- Documented success in leadership and support roles of increasing responsibility
- Proven sales performance within the relevant therapeutic areas preferred
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
- English language proficiency verbally and in writing
- Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination verification, fingerprinting, and any required state or city licenses as applicable
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe-driving requirements
- Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment
