About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with the Associate Director, Medical Affairs, ANZ, to set priorities, define strategy, and execute the Medical Affairs plan
  • Develop understanding of the local clinical landscape, stakeholder needs, and treatment pathways
  • Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, physicians, nurses, and healthcare stakeholders across ANZ
  • Conduct territory and stakeholder planning and identify unmet medical needs
  • Plan, document, and track scientific engagement activities
  • Conduct non-promotional scientific exchange with healthcare professionals regarding Allergan Aesthetics products and appropriate use
  • Provide scientific education, training, medical insights, and scientific updates
  • Support educational initiatives, speaker programs, scientific meetings, congresses, and professional forums
  • Maintain scientific credibility and therapeutic area expertise as a trusted external resource
  • Develop and execute KOL engagement plans and foster relationships with emerging leaders
  • Represent the company’s scientific perspective at customer meetings and professional forums
  • Monitor scientific, clinical, and market developments in ANZ, Asia-Pacific, and globally
  • Gather and communicate external insights, competitor intelligence, and scientific observations
  • Contribute accurate and balanced medical advice to promotional and educational materials
  • Report adverse events within 24 hours according to company policies
  • Participate in WHS programs and promote a safe work environment
  • Follow AbbVie and Allergan codes of conduct, compliance processes, and applicable laws
  • Perform ad hoc administrative duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Science degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of post-qualification work experience
  • Experience working in the pharmaceutical or medical-related industry
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role
  • Ability to travel about 50% of working time throughout ANZ
  • Excellent scientific communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to critically evaluate and communicate clinical data
  • Ability to learn and communicate clinical and non-clinical technical information to audiences with varying scientific expertise
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrix structure
  • High professional integrity and understanding of compliance requirements
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment and accountability
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong listening skills and ability to capture and synthesize insights
  • Intermediate Microsoft Suite skills, particularly PowerPoint
  • B Pharm, Nursing, Pharm D, MSc, or PhD preferred
  • Prior pharmaceutical commercial/sales experience highly desirable
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a medical affairs team in the medical device or pharmaceutical science industry desirable
  • Clinical research experience, including phase IV studies, desirable
  • Flexibility to occasionally participate in business meetings outside standard working hours
