About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maximize opportunities for AbbVie’s Anti-Infective product portfolio within the assigned geography
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with hospitals, IDNs, academic institutions, outpatient accounts, long-term care facilities, government accounts, and specialty private practices
- Increase patient access, develop new business, expand current business, maximize resource utilization, and achieve geography sales goals
- Advance hospital and specialty customers along the sales continuum and gain prescriber commitments
- Deliver on-label presentations and sales calls highlighting product benefits and risks
- Differentiate the portfolio value proposition among C-suite leaders, physicians, hospital staff, and support personnel
- Solve product and patient-flow challenges across Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distribution, and Buy and Bill channels
- Coordinate stakeholders across departments to align on patient-focused solutions
- Build relationships that generate market intelligence and support compliant programs and initiatives
- Create, execute, and monitor strategic geography business plans
- Determine account-specific department, channel, HCP focus, and contact frequency
- Source and interpret account data, maintain account profiles and relationship maps, and target key decision-makers
- Participate in local boards, societies, conventions, and HCP meetings; represent AbbVie and assigned products
- Communicate key information and findings to internal partners and stakeholders
- Complete required training and comply with company policies and OEC/Legal procedures
- Collaborate with AbbVie field and in-house teams, including MSLs, National Director of Accounts, and Key Account Directors
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience
- At least five years of relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
- Three or more years of pharmaceutical, health, or science industry experience preferred
- High school diploma/GED required
- Account-based selling experience with hospitals, wound care centers, or infusion centers
- Experience building hospital advocacy for acute products
- Experience navigating matrix environments and complex customers such as IDNs, academic institutions, hospitals, and outpatient accounts
- Knowledge of formulary approval processes and driving formulary approvals
- Buy and Bill and specialty pharmacy product experience preferred
- Documented strong sales performance and advanced sales skills
- Ability to communicate novel, complex, scientific, procedural, technical, and clinical information to varied audiences
- Strong analytical, planning, organization, presentation, facilitation, problem-resolution, and prioritization skills
- Ability to analyze diverse data sets using multiple tools and define account/program strategies
- Ability to cover the assigned geography and travel adequately, including overnight training events and sales meetings
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet safe driving requirements
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
- Ability to satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements, including possible background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and state or city-specific licenses
- Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment
