About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop robotics control and scheduling applications used in laboratory environments to automate testing of donor blood and plasma
- Design and develop software controlling robotic medical devices according to established development processes and healthcare regulations
- Design, code, test, and validate software for safe and reliable performance
- Support testing to verify requirements, quality standards, and design specifications
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers and team members to develop solutions, define requirements, and document design and testing activities
- Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, software requirements, and testing-result documentation
- Develop and maintain low-level software enabling hardware and device communication using C and C++
- Develop application-level software controlling and automating robotic and mechanical systems using state-based design
- Evaluate designs through testing and fully document results
- Investigate on-market issues, determine corrections, and implement them under the software engineering process
- Provide guidance to junior team members
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's degree with 10+ years of related experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of related experience, or Master's Degree with 4+ years of related experience
- Advanced experience designing and developing complex software systems
- Ability to provide guidance to junior team members
- Advanced knowledge of C/C++/C# or Python and agile methodologies
- Advanced understanding of test-driven methodologies
- Advanced knowledge of continuous integration and continuous development (CI/CD)
- Demonstrated technical proficiency, creativity, and independent thought
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop and design at the component level
- Advanced understanding of design patterns
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with unit testing and mocking environments (preferred)
- 5 years of experience with RTOS-based applications and inter-process communications (preferred)
- Understanding of C++ and robotics and sensor control, including state machine usage and common algorithms (preferred)
- Understanding of device-level communications (preferred)
