About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sell the entire line of ADC Products to regional market-based government accounts
  • Develop new business with healthcare providers in defined regional accounts, including regional and local market access
  • Grow existing customer base sales
  • Determine customer needs and develop account-specific strategies
  • Create customer commitment to change and implement conversion, training, and startup after close
  • Sell to key government target facilities through cross-divisional initiatives, driving access and market share and exceeding quarterly sales goals
  • Manage territory and ensure efficient implementations and training
  • Expand into Primary Care Account Management and Customer Care
  • Manage assigned budget while maximizing return on investment
  • Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system
  • Assess the business impact of contracting opportunities on profitability, sales, and margin
  • Develop regional government-account business
  • Conduct weekly travel and appointments with target facilities, healthcare providers, and pharmacy administration
  • Perform territory strategic planning and semi-annual business reviews
  • Prepare accurate forecasts and customer business plans
  • Drive new product sales and distribution
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Medical Science Liaisons, Network Field Specialists, Inside Sales, Customer Service, Contract Marketing, and Account Sales & Service

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Four-year degree in Business, Communications, Health Sciences, or equivalent experience
  • 3.0 to 5.0 years of proven successful sales experience at Abbott Laboratories or equivalent
  • Generally 4+ years of successful sales experience for candidates from outside Abbott Laboratories
  • High degree of computer literacy and functional ability to use Microsoft Office
  • Previous sales experience with VA, DoD, or Indian Health
  • Military background or family in military service
  • Managed Care experience
  • Analytical ability, negotiation skills, and contract/legal experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation and listening skills
  • High energy level, positive attitude, and confidence
  • Team orientation, integrity, and professionalism
  • Initiative, self-motivation, and strong work ethic
  • Career ambition and organizational skills
