Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate processes and tools to facilitate testing and successful coverage
  • Formulate and execute a strategic testing approach to ensure software quality and compliance
  • Review test-plan deliverables and activities for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and compliance
  • Ensure adequate test coverage for every release across multiple projects
  • Mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to junior software test team members
  • Review work for compliance and quality
  • Provide feedback and suggest improvements to the Agile SDLC process
  • Incorporate automated testing strategically into the SDLC
  • Evaluate new tools and processes for organizational adoption
  • Complete software testing for development user stories within an Agile SDLC
  • Review system specifications, requirements, and user stories; create and execute verification test cases
  • Investigate and report unexpected events, issues, and software bugs; verify fixes
  • Perform exploratory, system-level, and end-to-end testing
  • Develop test datasets and execute automation scripts
  • Create verification and validation test plans, test reports, and trace matrices; review with development and quality stakeholders
  • Review code-diff analysis and develop a robust regression-test strategy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related engineering field
  • Minimum 8+ years with embedded software testing
  • At least 4+ years of Software Quality Assurance in a regulated industry
  • 1+ years of scripting/automating tests and familiarity with automation
  • At least 3 years of coding, preferably with C or C++
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Understanding of test-driven methodologies
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency, creativity, and independent thought
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to work in Alameda or Milpitas, California
  • Willingness to travel 5% of the time
