Technical Application Specialist – Biomedical Scientist
AbbottApplication Specialist delivering training and support for Abbott diagnostic systems in the UK laboratories. Partnering with NHS and private labs to resolve application issues and optimize diagnostics.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver customer training and coaching on Abbott diagnostic systems.
- Support new instrument installations and assay implementations.
- Investigate and resolve application and assay-related issues within customer laboratories.
- Build strong relationships with Biomedical Scientists, Laboratory Managers and Pathologists.
- Provide expert technical and clinical support to customers.
- Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Travel extensively throughout the UK to support customer sites.
Requirements
What you’ll need- BSc in Biomedical Science, Life Sciences, Medical Technology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Experience working within a clinical diagnostic laboratory.
- Strong understanding of laboratory workflows and diagnostic testing.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Passion for training, coaching, and supporting healthcare professionals.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays.
- HCPC registration (ideal experience).
- Experience in Clinical Chemistry, Immunoassay, Haematology, Blood Sciences, Molecular Diagnostics, or Pathology (ideal experience).
- Senior Biomedical Scientist or Specialist Biomedical Scientist background (ideal experience).
- Customer-facing or training experience (ideal experience).
