About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct and synthesize targeted research and analysis on companies, industries, markets, and competitors using licensed tools to deliver actionable intelligence.
- This work will support competitive positioning, deal evaluations, and strategic initiatives, and will inform decision-making and business planning across functions such as licensing & acquisitions, competitive intelligence, marketing, product development, legal, and business development.
- Integrate the latest research tools, including AI technologies where appropriate, into workflows to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and presentation of business research, data management, knowledge sharing, and insight generation.
- Conduct outreach to identify opportunities and to deepen understanding of Abbott’s businesses, products, and strategic priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Abbott business leaders and stakeholders globally.
- Collaborate with other team members on complex, high-stakes research requests.
- Drive innovation by evaluating emerging information resources, technologies, and external vendor solutions to enhance research capabilities and service delivery.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, medical, or biological disciplines.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience reviewing, analyzing, and synthesizing business information, along with proficiency in secondary research tools and information retrieval across financial, news, and legal databases, and experience with prompt engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business information research within a corporate setting, including conducting secondary research across company and industry profiles, financial and deal analysis, competitive intelligence, and business topics, with a proven track record of end-to-end project ownership.
- Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills to navigate complex, ambiguous business questions and translate findings into clear, actionable insights.
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
