About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Primary point of contact for all division category needs with a spend of approximately $100MM.
  • Nurture stakeholder relationships by serving as a business partner.
  • Influence business initiatives and translate business vision and strategy into aligned category management.
  • Manage all category contractual obligations in a timely manner including contract negotiation.
  • Proactively identify continuous improvement opportunities to advance the category.
  • Provide insight on how to best develop and leverage supplier capabilities to meet business needs.
  • Monitor market dynamics, supplier competitive landscape, standards and pricing/costing strategy for category.
  • Ensure optimal balance between value for money, business continuity and cost savings is achieved.
  • Own and implement agreed purchasing strategies for the category.
  • Foster a collaborative environment among stakeholders.
  • Drive Total Cost of Ownership reductions for the category through analytics.
  • Measure and track performance of the category.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ year track record within procurement and supply chain management including engineering and/or technical category experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging with supply chain experience or a technical engineering degree with relative procurement experience.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Relevant certification desirable (e.g., CPSM, CPM, PMP)
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to develop actionable implementation plans.
  • Some experience leading teams.
  • Relevant business process knowledge, as related to procurement and category management.
