About the role
- Leads a global team overseeing Supplier Quality Engineering for Abbott’s Cardiac Rhythm Management division.
- Manages resolution of supplier quality/process issues and ensures continuous supply of high-quality components to production.
- Supports product development to ensure identification of quality-oriented suppliers with capable processes.
- Ensures systems are in place to monitor and track department and supplier performance.
- Recruits, coaches and develops organizational talent and provides direction to exempt specialists and supervisory staff.
- Owns Supplier Quality process and systems to ensure compliance to US and OUS regulations and standards; defines processes, systems/tools, and metrics.
- Acts as liaison and SME for Quality System and Supplier audits (internal and external).
- Liaises with CRM suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive proactive quality improvements and communicate changes.
- Represents Supplier Quality and Quality Systems in cross-functional divisional projects and identifies quality initiatives.
- Develops and executes organizational and operational policies; monitors compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, BSI, EEO).
- Makes decisions regarding work processes, operational plans, schedules, and annual departmental budgets.
- May supervise non-exempt employees and is responsible for continuous improvement and problem investigation across units.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum 7 years experience.
- Experience leading and developing organizational talent; provides direction to exempt specialists and/or supervisory staff.
- Experience in Supplier Quality Engineering and supplier/process quality issue resolution.
- Familiarity with FDA/ISO regulations and quality system environments.
- Experience with supplier audits and liaison responsibilities (internal and external).
- Ability to develop goals, procedures, policies, systems, and metrics.
- Experience monitoring supplier performance and department metrics.
- Experience supporting product development to identify quality-oriented suppliers.
- Ability to lead cross-functional quality initiatives and projects.
- Experience developing and monitoring departmental budgets.
- Willingness to travel (~10%).
