About the role
- Research and develop high-volume consumer medical devices
- Collaborate with product managers, cross-functional leaders, system designers to translate business needs and product requirements into feature definition, technical requirements and designs.
- Develop embedded system requirements, specifications, architectures and translate into hardware meeting performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.
- Work closely with software architecture leaders to ensure proper system implementation to support the needs for system verification, manufacturing, and the end user.
- Create and review electrical design specifications and product requirements.
- Support development of design FMEAs and V&V test protocols.
- Ensure that electrical designs meet applicable industry and medical device standards.
- Communicate effectively to and participate in cross-functional development teams.
- Write and submit Engineering Change Orders in Agile PLM.
- Serve as an independent reviewer on programs not directly involved.
- Comply with corporate and divisional policies and support additional program needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- Minimum of 7 + years of relevant experience
- Mastery of fundamental Electrical Engineering and Embedded Design principles.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Experience in performing complex engineering calculations and relating results to design verification tests including statistical analysis and tolerance analysis
- Demonstrated capability in developing embedded hardware systems with associated design documentation.
