About the role
- Support the Payroll Operations team in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for U.S. and P.R.-based employees.
- Assist in processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll for U.S. and P.R. employees using payroll systems (e.g., Workday).
- Review payroll records, payroll inputs, and deductions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay and deductions in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with HR, Benefits, Timekeeping and Data Integrity teams to ensure payroll alignment.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and reports.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.
- Stay informed of changes in federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a large corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of payroll systems and timekeeping tools (e.g., Kronos, Workday).
- Knowledge of U.S. payroll laws and regulations (FLSA, IRS, state tax rules).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC certification (preferred).
- Experience with multi-state payroll and union/non-union environments (preferred).
