About the role
- Lead the end‑to‑end Quality System integration for the New Zealand site, ensuring execution in alignment with Abbott and Abbott Nutrition global QA standards.
- Partner with the Site Quality Director and site/divisional leadership to define program scope, priorities, timelines, and governance structure.
- Assess existing quality systems and develop a clear transition roadmap to meet Abbott’s policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Direct implementation of new QS processes and documentation, ensuring operational continuity and regulatory compliance during the transition.
- Coordinate cross‑functional integration activities across Manufacturing, Materials Management, Engineering, R&D, Commercial Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Legal to maintain alignment and execution discipline.
- Lead organizational change management, including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, training development, and readiness assessments.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with in‑country regulatory authorities and verification service providers to support compliant system transition and inspection readiness.
- Monitor progress against program deliverables; identify risks, gaps, and dependencies; and lead structured problem-solving to resolve issues.
- Prepare and deliver regular dashboards, program updates, and risk/mitigation summaries to leadership teams at the site and division levels.
- Ensure project execution adheres to Abbott’s global project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Represent Abbott on-site throughout the 2–3 year expat assignment, fostering collaboration, alignment, and adoption across local teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree - Technical or Scientific discipline preferred (Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Engineering, etc.)
- Must have experience across a broad range of quality assurance activities including a working knowledge of plant QA functions such as analytical chemistry, incoming materials, quality systems, quality engineering, microbiology, product and process design, and regulatory compliance.
- Must have excellent judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Minimum of 7 years relevant experience required including management and QA experience at the division and plant levels.
