About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan and execute complex technical field assignments involving installation, modification, testing, inspection, or repair of company products and equipment
  • Coordinate work with other groups to meet customer commitments
  • Recommend measures to improve operations and customer service
  • Travel globally to customer premises, usually onboard vessels in offshore and dry-dock environments
  • Install, modify, test, repair, and inspect power generation, distribution, and control products and equipment, including LV and MV systems and protection functions
  • Provide remote on-call support for customer technical problems
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment using personal knowledge and experience

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Three or more years’ experience preferred in marine power generation and power distribution with a focus on protection relays, circuit breakers, contactors, transformers, AVRs, communications and control of those systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or another Electrical technical field preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with marine/offshore work environment and procedures
  • Experience in marine power systems
  • Must be fluent in both written and verbal English
  • Preferred experience with ABB marine equipment
  • Experience as a ship electrician or experience from shipyards, understanding and interest in marine installations
