About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Start up and commission equipment and perform post-start-up field services primarily for data center customers
- Plan and execute service work according to customer orders, expectations, work instructions, quality standards, and safety guidelines
- Deliver excellent customer service and communicate service timelines and expectations
- Plan and prepare site work for larger project teams and manage related subcontractors on site
- Execute work correctly the first time and complete assignments on time
- Identify improvement needs and potential solutions with Site Managers and Senior Field Service Technicians
- Troubleshoot equipment, system, and process failures; request corrective actions and recommend preventive improvements
- Collect data and provide timely reports to support fleet performance analysis, marketing intelligence, and service sales opportunities
- Assist customers with spare-parts ordering, issue resolution, and provisioning
- Perform duties in Power Delivery, Medium and Low Voltage Electrification, and Control Systems
- Maintain assignment documentation and complete reports and test reports using job-related software
- Lead site Health, Safety, and Environment activities, report unsafe practices and incidents, and apply safety and environmental rules
- Promptly book travel arrangements upon receiving assignments
- Wear required personal protective equipment and uniforms
Requirements
What you’ll need- Theoretical experience in all aspects of electrical design
- High school diploma/GED with 5 years of hands-on electrical/electronics engineering experience; OR associate degree/trade certification with 3 years of experience; OR bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience; OR high school diploma/GED with 3 years of equivalent work or military experience servicing critical power equipment
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), safety codes and regulations, and QA requirements
- Proven analytical and quality improvement ability
- Ability to work with maintenance, engineering, and management personnel at all levels
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite products
- Knowledge of Google Suite products, including Sheets, Docs, Drive, and Slides
- Knowledge of project issue-resolution software such as BIM, Compass, CxAlloy, and Procore
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with external customers, vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders
- Experience with Emerson RX3i and Proficy Machine Edition, ABB AC500 PLC and Automation Builder, CP600 HMI and PanelBuilder, Zenon, and Cimplicity preferred
- Computer networking skills, Wireshark, IED Scout, relay testing and configuration, and RTAC configuration preferred
- Must be fluent in written and conversational English
- Currently authorized to work and live in the United States
- Ability and willingness to travel 90–100% throughout the United States, including long-term assignments lasting consecutive weeks
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and uniforms
