About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direction and assistance to the work group to meet assigned objectives
  • Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on electrical distribution equipment
  • Communicate with internal and external customers via phone/email to schedule upcoming jobs and order materials
  • Perform safety analysis and paperwork prior to starting work
  • Arrive at site in physically and mentally prepared to work in various environments
  • Ability to access remote work sites
  • Be responsible for hands-on execution of projects
  • Perform administrative functions such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports
  • Work directly with customers and ABB sales/service team to identify new service opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Engineering Technology (OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 2 additional years of related engineering / field experience)
  • Minimum of 2 years of field engineering experience
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% as required
  • Valid passport and driver's license required
