About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and maintain strong relationships with electrical contractors while driving preference for ABB through education, technical presentations, and proactive engagement.
- Execute sales strategies that expand market share and margin by identifying upcoming opportunities, influencing specifications, introducing new products, and closing deals with informed pricing decisions.
- Perform take‑offs, develop competitive proposals, negotiate project orders, and consistently meet or exceed assigned volume and margin targets.
- Track leads, wins, and losses in Salesforce while providing market intelligence, competitive insights, and hit‑rate analysis to leadership.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration or something similar from an accredited university/college, or High School Diploma and 10+ years of relevant work experience (sales and industry-specific experience preferred)
- Knowledge and experience quoting and/or selling commercial, industrial and residential projects to electrical contractors
- Demonstrated expertise in the electrical industry—including ABB products—supported by strong technical skills in applications, take‑offs, proposal development, analytical tools, and a solid understanding of customer financial drivers.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities with a customer‑focused mindset, proven coordination and influencing skills, and successful experience working directly with electrical contractors.
- Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
