About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide strategic legal counsel as a business partner and uphold and foster the highest standards of integrity within ABB.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Effectively and pragmatically manage legal risks.
- Reviewing and negotiating contracts, drafting commercial agreements and other contractual terms in collaboration with relevant business stakeholders and team members, and collaborating with contract management.
- Monitoring legal affairs, including but not limited to litigations and activity reports and occupying a seat at the table on local strategic business matters.
- Ensuring good corporate governance (including structuring, drafting, and negotiation) in your area of accountability within the country, with respect to Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) / divestiture transactions.
- Supporting in anticipating future business and legal opportunities and challenges and developing appropriate strategies to address them.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in law from an established US university.
- Law firm experience and In-house experience preferred.
- You hold current bar admission valid in a US State.
- Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
- You are at ease communicating in English. French and/or German helpful.
- You enjoy working as part of a full-service team integrated into our business.
- Willingness to work with AI and in a digitally enabled environment.
- You are passionate about law in a practical and solution orientated way with out-of-the- box thinking.
- You are captivated by technology and want to work collaboratively as a true business partner.
