About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines.
  • Deliver quality customer service planning and execute service work as per customer order and expectation.
  • Communicate service work timeline and expectations to ensure customer retention.
  • Maintain quality control hardware and software, and troubleshoot issues with systems.
  • Answer customer questions about the state of the ABB system.
  • Resolve customer service-related issues while fostering customer relationships.
  • Document the work performed for preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Play an active role in various projects such as upgrades, installations, or new functionality.
  • Coordinate work with other groups to ensure commitments are met.
  • Lead Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) activities at customer sites.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of electrical/electronics, instrumentation or process control related experience required; OR HS diploma/GED and 7+ years of related experience required.
  • Mechanical/Electrical aptitude including a basic understanding of electrical theory and electrical safety; ability to use electrical test equipment
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot electrical systems
  • Ability to identify voltage systems that are above the level 240 VAC/870 VDC.
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools.
  • Basic understanding of the paper making process and process control preferred; Exposure to DCS programming and troubleshooting is beneficial.
  • Travel up to 15% for training and assisting other sites as needed.
  • Applicants should possess a work authorization that would allow them to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.
