About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive the sales performance of the Traction Division for Railway and Mobile e Power for America.
- Participate in sales strategy discussions, assigning goals and negotiating sales budgets and marketing plans.
- Manage the sales team in the Americas Region, reporting directly to the Global Head of Sales Traction.
- Responsible for Topline for all the Traction Business Lines.
- Take overall responsibility for all the offers in the region; Contract / Risk versus Opportunity, Project Calculation, market Pricing, profitable growth.
- Assist the sales team and customers throughout the sales process.
- Identify customer needs and competitors’ offerings through market studies to ensure effective marketing and communication of value propositions.
- Conduct market intelligence, early identification, and capturing of upcoming opportunities.
- Conduct sales performance reviews, propose recovery plans for potential order shortfalls, and produce sales reports to assist in production planning.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in technical and/or business discipline and combined 15+ years of experience in direct sales and sales management positions.
- Previous experience working as an international Sales Manager in a Global Company.
- Technical knowledge of Traction Products and Systems and Rail Applications and projects.
- Experience in business development, account management and cross-selling.
- An understanding of contract negotiations, risk management, and commercial and legal terms.
- Exceptional spoken and written communication skills in English, negotiating skills, a customer-focused mindset.
- Market knowledge for Rolling Stock and/or Mobile e Power.
- This role requires 30% domestic and international travel across the United States, Canada, Mexico and South America requiring a Valid US Drivers’ License and US Passport.
- Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
