About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines.
- Deliver quality customer service planning and execute service work as per customer order and expectations.
- Communicate service work timelines and expectations to ensure customer retention.
- Maintain quality control hardware and software.
- Resolve customer service-related issues while fostering customer relationships and working to solve technical problems on-site.
- Deal directly with plant operators, plant management, 3rd party vendors, and other ABB personnel.
- Rotational on-call for 24-hour emergency support service requests.
- Accurately document work performed for maintenance tasks.
- Play an active role in projects such as upgrades and new installations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s degree and 2+ years of electrical/electronics, instrumentation or process control related experience required; OR HS diploma/GED and 4+ years of related experience required.
- Ability to use electrical test equipment such as voltmeters or multi-meters.
- Mechanical/Electrical aptitude including; a basic understanding of electrical theory and electrical safety.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot electrical systems; ability to diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems up to 240 VAC/870 VDC and perform preventive maintenance using electrical test equipment; ability to identify voltage systems that are above the level 240 VAC/870 VDC.
- Comfortable using basic hand tools.
- Basic understanding of the paper making process and process control preferred.
- Exposure to DCS programming and troubleshooting is beneficial.
- Travel up to 15% for training and assisting other sites as needed.
