About the role

  • Design end-to-end product experiences across our web and mobile products - from early exploration through polished UI
  • Translate DeFi mechanics and data-heavy flows into intuitive, user-centered interfaces
  • Create high-quality mockups and interactive prototypes that clearly communicate intent
  • Contribute to and evolve Aave’s design system - ensuring consistency, scalability, and craft
  • Work closely with engineering to ensure what ships matches the design vision
  • Partner with product to shape problem definition, user flows, and success criteria
  • Think through edge cases, error states, and loading scenarios — not just the happy path
  • Utilise the latest AI tools into your day-to-day work

Requirements

  • Strong product design fundamentals - hierarchy, typography, spacing, interaction, and systems thinking are second nature
  • Experience designing complex digital products (fintech, trading, dashboards, developer tools, or similarly technical spaces is a plus)
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and helping shape problems, not just solutions
  • Experience contributing to or working within a design system
  • A genuine eye for detail - you notice when something feels off, inconsistent, or unfinished
  • Confident collaborating cross-functionally with product and engineering
  • Able to clearly articulate design rationale and give/receive thoughtful critique
