About the role

Design end-to-end product experiences across our web and mobile products - from early exploration through polished UI
Translate DeFi mechanics and data-heavy flows into intuitive, user-centered interfaces
Create high-quality mockups and interactive prototypes that clearly communicate intent
Contribute to and evolve Aave’s design system - ensuring consistency, scalability, and craft
Work closely with engineering to ensure what ships matches the design vision
Partner with product to shape problem definition, user flows, and success criteria
Think through edge cases, error states, and loading scenarios — not just the happy path
Utilise the latest AI tools into your day-to-day work

Strong product design fundamentals - hierarchy, typography, spacing, interaction, and systems thinking are second nature
Experience designing complex digital products (fintech, trading, dashboards, developer tools, or similarly technical spaces is a plus)
Comfortable working in ambiguity and helping shape problems, not just solutions
Experience contributing to or working within a design system
A genuine eye for detail - you notice when something feels off, inconsistent, or unfinished
Confident collaborating cross-functionally with product and engineering
Able to clearly articulate design rationale and give/receive thoughtful critique
