About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take ownership of audit engagements from planning through to completion
- Preparation of year-end financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies in accordance with Irish GAAP (FRS 102 / FRS 102 Section 1A/FRS 105).
- Preparation and submission of Corporation Tax (CT1), Income Tax (Form 11), VAT (including RCT where applicable), and PAYE/Payroll compliance returns.
- Liaising with the Revenue Commissioners on behalf of clients.
- Assisting clients with company secretarial compliance via the Companies Registration Office (CRO filings, annual returns, etc.).
- Management of a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients.
- Review of bookkeeping and VAT returns prepared by junior staff.
- Mentoring and supporting trainees/junior accountants.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant Irish regulatory and professional standards.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience working in an Irish accountancy practice.
- Strong knowledge of Irish tax legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience preparing accounts for SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
- Proficient in Irish accounting and tax software packages.
- Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102/FRS 105 and Irish company law compliance.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage client relationships and workload independently.
