Engineering Manager

• Lead the design and development of our core ad serving infrastructure, ensuring high throughput, sub-100ms latency, and extreme reliability at scale.
• Architect and build agentic backend systems powered by LLMs — enabling intelligent workflows for contextual ad placement, creative optimization, real-time brand safety, and dynamic decisioning.
• Partner closely with the frontend team on campaign management, creative generation/optimization, and advertiser-facing tools.
• Design and implement scalable reporting, analytics, and fraud detection systems to maintain ecosystem trust and performance transparency.
• Drive technical strategy for cloud-native, distributed systems — making trade-offs around cost, latency, availability, and AI inference efficiency.
• Mentor and grow a team of strong engineers; provide technical leadership, conduct code/design reviews, and help recruit top talent.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Ads Engineering, and Business Development to translate business needs into robust, production-ready systems.

• Lead end-to-end program planning and execution for major AdTech initiatives, including the ad serving system, agentic backend workflows, campaign/creative management tools, scalable reporting, and fraud detection systems
• Partner closely with the Principal Software Engineering Manager (Tech Lead) and engineering teams to define technical roadmaps, break down epics into actionable milestones, and drive on-time delivery
• Collaborate with the frontend team, Product, and Business Development to align on requirements for campaign management, creative optimization, and advertiser/publisher-facing features
• Manage cross-functional dependencies, risks, and blockers — proactively surfacing issues and coordinating resolutions across Engineering, Product, Design, and external partners (publishers, SSPs, DSPs)
• Establish and maintain clear program artifacts: roadmaps, timelines, status reporting, RACI matrices, and success metrics to ensure transparency for leadership and stakeholders
• Drive launch readiness and post-launch activities, including go-to-market coordination, partner integration support, performance monitoring, and iterative improvements
• Facilitate effective working sessions, prioritization decisions, and trade-off discussions between technical constraints and business needs

• Design for AI transparency: You'll help address one of the biggest design challenges today—making AI accountable. Work together on designing our AI-powered search and attribution platform, creating interfaces that provide publishers with clear, meaningful insight into how their content is discovered, credited, and valued in the era of AI.
• Build for the user: This isn't an "assist with" role; you'll own it. Lead the end-to-end product design process from initial concepts and user flows to wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI, making sure every touchpoint across ProRata's product suite, Gist, feels seamless and intuitive for the publishers, advertisers, and creators who depend on it.
• Contribute to our design system: Great products are built on strong foundations. You'll design and maintain reusable components and patterns that drive Gist’s design system.
