About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare financial analyses, research, reports, and statements to support management decisions
- Ensure data integrity within financial systems
- Analyze and evaluate the financial impact of decisions and transactions
- Respond to departmental and management inquiries and requests for financial data
- Interpret results and provide recommendations and action plans
- Develop and maintain complex financial models
- Prepare and present written and oral reports and documents
- Support internal and external auditors by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and implementing recommended changes
- Coordinate, test, and document system changes or upgrades
- Represent Finance on corporate teams and initiatives
- Develop and maintain job documentation and procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Experience preparing financial reports
- Experience using automated accounting and/or management reporting systems
- Experience preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial or statistical data
- Experience developing workpapers, schedules, and models using spreadsheet software such as Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to research and analyze complex financial data
- Ability to analyze and problem solve
- Ability to organize and plan
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to participate on project teams
- Ability to work irregular or extended hours as required
- Ability to derive actionable conclusions from data analysis
- Knowledge of property and casualty insurance industry concepts
- Knowledge of premium, sales/use, and property taxes
- Knowledge of 1099 reporting
- Knowledge of Workday financial reporting system and Office Connect
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws
- Experience with corporate tax departments and/or CPA firms
- Experience preparing sales/use tax returns and analyzing related data

- Experience analyzing 1099 data and preparing reports
- Experience preparing premium tax returns and estimates
- Experience developing spreadsheets and workpapers using Microsoft Office and Office Connect
- Experience performing tax research
- Experience preparing corporate and state income tax returns
- Experience completing income tax workpapers for provisions and tax returns
- Experience using corporate income tax return preparation software
