About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver behind-the-wheel instruction to students of varying ages and experience levels following AAA’s curriculum and training standards
  • Use driving school software to track and manage student progress
  • Assess student performance and provide personalized guidance
  • Stay current on safe and defensive driving practices
  • Maintain all required state documentation
  • Travel within a 50-mile radius as needed
  • Safely assume control of the vehicle from the passenger seat during instruction or emergency situations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in driving instruction, education, or the automotive industry
  • Confidence working with the public, especially teens
  • Strong commitment to promoting safe driving habits
  • Flexibility for weekday afternoons and at least one weekend day
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and hear and see in all weather conditions
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and lift up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to safely assume control of the vehicle from the passenger seat
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Minimum of 5 years of driving experience
  • Must obtain a state-issued Driving School Instructor license, including passing a DMV-required physical exam
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screening
