About the role
- Reviews and analyzes internal/external investigations, inspections and/or statuses to ensure rating/premium value integrity
- Ensures meeting underwriting guidelines and corporate goals
- Initiates policy adjustments for commercial product line(s) and tabulates results
- Compares the rating characteristics of specific accounts and formulates a course of action to ensure compliance with corporate underwriting rules and procedures
- Provides advanced technical and product information in response to questions/inquiries
- Corresponds and maintains professional relationships with agents and producers
- Updates rating criteria on affected policies
- Completes activity sheets for compiling monthly reports
- Performs calculations of premiums recovered to ascertain impact of inappropriate ratings
- Underwrites and processes renewals and endorsements within commercial underwriting analyst authority level
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Two years insurance experience reviewing claims for possible changes in rating or acceptability status
- Analyzing insurance needs and determining appropriate levels of coverage
- Working with various commercial insurance product lines
- Investigating and validating proper rating
- Knowledge of company underwriting policies, procedures and practices
- Inspection techniques related to commercial insurance
- Communicating effectively with others
- Presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Accessing and working with rate account information on computer terminal
- Reviewing new or renewal commercial insurance accounts to determine appropriate rating classifications
- Working within a team environment
- College level coursework in Business Administration or a related field (Preferred)
- CPCU, IIA, CIC or other insurance related coursework (Preferred)
