About the role
- Evaluate established and start-up business accounts in rideshare, carshare, subscription auto, autonomous vehicle operations, and other emerging mobility and sharing economy markets.
- Determine account pricing based on risk attributes to attract and retain desirable business while meeting profitability targets.
- Analyze business financials, operations, inventory management, risk controls, employee training, and other key underwriting information.
- Collaborate with Forms, Legal, Finance and Claims teams to identify risk exposures and recommend appropriate insurance solutions.
- Contribute to the design and development of innovative insurance products.
- Assess underwriting profitability through analysis of loss runs, frequency and severity trends, and driver risk profiles.
- Monitor trends in the sharing economy and competitive landscape to develop solutions for emerging exposures.
- Build and maintain strong broker and client relationships, pursuing creative, client-focused strategies to drive new business opportunities.
- Engage regularly with executives, including negotiating with customers, influencing leaders, and representing the organization in strategic discussions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5-8 years of commercial auto insurance experience.
- 3-5 years of commercial product management or underwriting experience.
- Proven expertise in underwriting and product management for medium to large business accounts.
- Strong knowledge of commercial lines products, contract terms, and regulations related to the sharing economy, mobility or other related sector.
- Experience designing usage-based insurance products.
- Comprehensive understanding of the insurance product lifecycle, competitive landscape, pricing strategies, profitability drivers, regulatory requirements, and surplus lines regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong problem-solving and multitasking capabilities.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing opportunities and challenges.
