About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a strategic business consultant and market expert
  • Provide insights on regulatory changes, emerging trends, and business impacts
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and support product implementation
  • Advise senior leadership and deliver data-driven recommendations influencing strategy and operations
  • Research and monitor local regulatory conditions
  • Present research and analysis to various management levels
  • Identify emerging trends and issues in assigned territory and present findings to leadership
  • Perform sophisticated analysis of assigned functions or business areas and translate findings into process changes and strategic advice
  • Interpret proposals, evaluate findings, and guide outcomes
  • Present regularly to senior management, including VP-level leadership
  • Support new product implementation as the subject-matter expert in the local market
  • Lead and participate in sophisticated cross-functional projects involving system defects, discounts, forms, and contracting changes
  • Provide mentorship and training to less seasoned team members
  • Craft sophisticated policy language with minimal assistance from Legal
  • Maintain rule manuals and eligibility guidelines
  • Prepare filing objection responses and manage market conduct exams
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the organization at all levels

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years of related work experience, typically including 5+ years in the personal lines P&C industry
  • Prior experience in state product management roles or related functions such as pricing, product strategy and development, or data science
  • Deep understanding of the state insurance regulatory landscape and market, including rate, rules, and forms
  • Excellent understanding of insurance products
  • Outstanding analytical and processing skills with ability to see the big picture and make solid recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to lead through influence and drive work forward
  • Ability to conduct meetings and deliver formal presentations
  • Organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Expert knowledge of insurance concepts
  • Ability to travel as needed for divisional/team meetings and other in-person meetings
  • Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the United States
  • Must not require immigration support or visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • MBA, CPCU certification, or actuarial designation (ACAS, FCAS) would be advantageous
