About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent level of work experience
  • Experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex business problems
  • Experience designing, developing, implementing, and/or supporting complex mainframe and/or distributed information systems
  • Experience architecting or integrating complex mainframe and/or distributed information systems
  • Experience defining technical and functional requirements for complex applications
  • Experience with structured systems analysis, design, programming, and testing
  • Experience evaluating and installing purchased vendor application packages
  • Experience providing technical leadership and guidance to project teams in design and integration with existing applications
  • Experience with software reengineering tools and techniques
  • Experience with enterprise application architecture
  • Experience developing design specifications and technical architecture solutions from business requirements
  • Experience with large-scale projects
  • Knowledge of complex application design, database design, and complex systems integration
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve highly complex problems in test or production environments
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as COBOL and COBOL II
  • Knowledge of operating systems such as MVS, Windows, and UNIX
  • Knowledge of database management systems such as Oracle, IMS DB, DB2, and SQL Server
  • Knowledge of online communication systems such as IMS DC and CICS
  • Knowledge of Joint Application Design (JAD) and Rapid Application Design (RAD) techniques
  • Knowledge of enterprise-wide data and process modeling
  • Knowledge of technology and design standards, systems operation practices, and security and control procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of at least one business process, product, mission-critical application system, application system under development, or key strategic technology area
  • Background and drug screening required upon offer
