About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Initiate operations in accordance with customer requirements and monitor performance to optimize production processes
Gather materials as needed to maintain production
Perform complex, critical setup, operation, and adjustment of equipment to produce product within specifications
Perform visual quality checks using tools and gauges to examine products for defects
Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed
Perform changeovers accurately and efficiently
Remove parts from the machine after the cycle is complete
Use computer monitors to operate equipment
Complete paperwork related to production activity
Report quality, process, equipment, and material problems to the production lead or supervisor
Train other operators as needed or requested
Wear required PPE
Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and organized condition
Cross-train to permit movement throughout and between departments
Perform other duties and operate machinery as assigned by the lead or supervisor

Requirements

What you’ll need

Previous manufacturing experience preferred
Ability to understand and follow standard work and work instructions
Ability to receive on-the-job training
Ability to read simple blueprints
Ability to read a tape measure
Ability to perform repetitive work while paying attention to detail
Knowledge and skill to operate all required machines
Ability to stoop, kneel, stand, walk, push, pull, crouch, or reach within hands- and arms-length on a regular and/or repetitive basis
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. with or without assistance
Must not be on predischarge for attendance or have a written performance write-up for any reason
Prolonged periods of sitting/standing and frequent bending and reaching
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance
High School Diploma or GED
Wear required PPE, including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, and task-specific PPE
