About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Initiate operations in accordance with customer requirements and monitor performance to optimize production processes
  • Gather materials as needed to maintain production
  • Perform complex, critical setup, operation, and adjustment of equipment to produce product within specifications
  • Perform visual quality checks using tools and gauges to examine products for defects
  • Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed
  • Perform changeovers accurately and efficiently
  • Remove parts from the machine after the cycle is complete
  • Use computer monitors to operate equipment
  • Complete paperwork related to production activity
  • Report quality, process, equipment, and material problems to the production lead or supervisor
  • Train other operators as needed or requested
  • Wear required PPE
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and organized condition
  • Cross-train to permit movement throughout and between departments
  • Perform other duties and operate machinery as assigned by the lead or supervisor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to understand and follow standard work and work instructions
  • Ability to receive on-the-job training
  • Ability to read simple blueprints
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Ability to perform repetitive work while paying attention to detail
  • Knowledge and skill to operate all required machines
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, stand, walk, push, pull, crouch, or reach within hands- and arms-length on a regular and/or repetitive basis
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. with or without assistance
  • Must not be on predischarge for attendance or have a written performance write-up for any reason
  • Prolonged periods of sitting/standing and frequent bending and reaching
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Wear required PPE, including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, and task-specific PPE
