About the role

Lead technical implementation efforts across a suite of enterprise applications supporting VA financial and administrative systems.
Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software applications and modules.
Lead technical design discussions and review software architecture with stakeholders.
Mentor junior developers and enforce coding standards and best practices.
Contribute to DevSecOps implementation and CI/CD pipeline integration.
Develop RESTful APIs and support integration with external systems and platforms.
Collaborate with business analysts and QA teams to ensure requirement alignment.
Ensure solutions meet VA cybersecurity and accessibility (Section 508) requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex software bugs and performance issues.
Document system design, development processes, and technical specifications.

BD degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required.
8 years of related professional experience.
8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
Extensive experience in Java, .NET, or other enterprise-level development stacks.
Expertise in Agile development frameworks and tools such as JIRA and GitLab.
Familiarity with microservices architecture, containerization, and cloud platforms.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead technical teams.
Ability to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; applicants will be subject to a security investigation.
Knowledge of VA cybersecurity and accessibility (Section 508) requirements.
