About the role

  • 9th Way Insignia is a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business delivering cybersecurity, cloud modernization, software development, data analytics, enterprise architecture, enterprise IT, analytics, process automation, and AI to government customers
  • Oversee all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and payroll
  • Prepare and present timely, accurate monthly and annual financial statements
  • Manage all aspects of monthly close and consolidation
  • Lead the transition from outsourced finance functions to a fully in-house team
  • Serve as Unanet system SME for accounting functions; oversee integration and optimization
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, and government contract regulations
  • Partner with the Pricer, Finance Operations Lead, and EVP of Human Capital to develop accurate pricing models and labor projections
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets and ensure efficiency
  • Coordinate external audits and support the annual ISO and 401K audits
  • Manage and mentor accounting staff including Staff Accountant and Program Financial Analysts

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Experience in government contracting and a deep understanding of FAR, DCAA, and CAS compliance
  • Expertise in Unanet or similar ERP systems
  • Proven experience building or leading accounting teams, including in-house transition from outsourced providers
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality
  • Preferred: Prior experience as a Controller in a midsize or growing GovCon firm
  • Preferred: Strong communication and executive presentation skills
