About the role

  • Coordinate the preparation of statutory financial statements for several European entities, ensuring compliance with local GAAPs (e.g., French GAAP, German HGB).
  • Manage and support external auditors during year end audits, ensuring timely delivery of information and resolution of queries.
  • Oversee month-end close processes for selected entities, reviewing journals, accruals, prepayments, and other key entries.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations, investigating variances and maintaining integrity of ledgers.
  • Drive the clean-up and updating of accounting records for entities with legacy or catch-up requirements.
  • Collaborate with finance colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders to gather information, improve processes, and support decision making.
  • Contribute to finance initiatives and projects, with a focus on strengthening statutory reporting and compliance frameworks.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, group accounting policies, and statutory deadlines across all assigned entities.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant with a strong background in financial reporting, ideally from a practice environment.
  • Experience preparing or auditing statutory accounts under European GAAPs.
  • Detail oriented and hands-on, with the ability to work independently while also coordinating across teams.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines across jurisdictions.
  • Confident in liaising with auditors, external advisors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast paced environment with evolving requirements.
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across different cultures and functions.
