About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and deliver technical training programs for field technicians
- Ensure competency in commercial HVAC/R systems, refrigeration technologies, and compliance standards
- Support technician development, operational consistency, and safety across the organization
- Deliver structured training programs for new hires and existing technicians
- Conduct ride-alongs, field coaching, and hands-on training sessions
- Develop and maintain training materials, SOPs, and technical guides
- Ensure compliance with EPA, safety, and company standards
- Evaluate technician performance and identify skill gaps
- Provide ongoing support for troubleshooting and advanced diagnostics
- Stay current with emerging HVAC/R technologies and refrigerant regulations
Requirements
What you’ll need- EPA 608 Universal Certification (required)
- Minimum 6 years of commercial HVAC/R experience
- Strong background in retail / convenience store refrigeration systems
- Proven ability to train, mentor, and evaluate technicians
- Working knowledge and hands-on experience in refrigerants & systems R-448A R-290 (propane systems) R-404A R-22 / legacy systems
- Familiarity with Carrier commercial HVAC/R systems Tutin Labs systems and diagnostics ALS (Advanced Leak Systems / monitoring systems)
- Experience with commercial refrigeration systems Rack systems and walk-in coolers/freezers
