About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promoting and driving the company’s safety culture within the Safety Specialist’s geographic area of oversight.
  • Manage the investigations of occupational injuries/illnesses to determine OSHA Recordability status; Recommend and implement appropriate corrective action measures.
  • Utilize reporting and trend analysis to communicate safety performance within the area of oversight.
  • Develop and implement improvement programs for markets and territories experiencing safety challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local health and safety laws and regulations, including OSHA and Department of Labor requirements, within the assigned area.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelors/4 Yr Degree
  • 8+ years of experience in an Occupational Health and Safety role (Retail industry preferred)
  • Experience with employee injury investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Management of Federal, State, and Local regulatory compliance programs (experience with OSHA and DOL agencies preferred)
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is a requirement; especially Microsoft Excel
