About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design and implementation of software solutions aligned with project goals
- Provide technical guidance to team members
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and QA engineers
- Design and implement CI/CD processes for data processing, releasing, testing, and monitoring
- Create and manage ETL workflows, databases, and data infrastructure components
- Develop and optimize Python-based applications and services for efficient data processing
- Maintain data quality and support accurate, up-to-date utilities mapping
- Conduct technical reviews of third-party tools, frameworks, and technologies
- Identify technical debt and implement improvements to code quality and maintainability
- Implement relevant technologies, industry trends, and software development methodologies
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years as a backend/software engineer with solid Python skills
- 3+ years of GIS/Geospatial development experience
- Experience with PostGIS, GeoParquet, and coordinate systems
- Proven experience with AI development tools; Claude Code is used daily
- Familiarity with Airflow or comparable orchestration
- Experience with AWS services
- Solid PostgreSQL/SQL skills
- Solid debugging skills
- Kubernetes/Docker experience
- Fluent English, written and verbal
- AI-first mindset; curiosity and drive to develop AI workflows
- Preferred but not required: civil engineering-related experience
- Preferred but not required: experience with message queues
- Preferred but not required: experience with ArgoCD, Helm, or KEDA in Kubernetes environments
