About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build wooden pallets from recycled materials, deconstructed pallets, and/or lumber
- Repair damaged pallets and return them to service-ready condition
- Consolidate and ship repaired pallets back to customers
- Utilize appropriate tools and methods for pallet repair
- Communicate with Production Supervisors, Assistant Plant Manager, and Plant Manager
- Examine repaired products to verify conformance to quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Build and repair assigned pallet quantities after training
- Work without constant supervision to achieve production quotas safely
- Stack pallets or materials correctly according to inventory control instructions
- Check loads to ensure they are secure
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school degree or GED required
- Completion of a craft apprenticeship preferred
- Requires quick hands, attention to detail, and commitment to quality
- Observance of all safety rules and regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
- Demonstrated experience safely operating air-driven, electric, pneumatic, and manual woodworking tools
- Previous experience in welding, lumbering, construction, carpentry, or roofing strongly preferred
- Ability to work in extreme conditions including heat, cold, and air particulate
- Ability to repetitively lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts
- Personal Protective Equipment required, including eye protection, ear protection where mandatory, and safety shoes
- Close, distance, and color vision
- Good sense of balance and eye-hand-foot coordination
