About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Operate an automatic Ottawa Yard Truck and maneuver 53’ long trailers into tight spaces without causing damage
Move loaded and unloaded trailers around the plant as needed
Make decisions regarding trailer movement to maximize operational efficiency and minimize safety incidents
Perform daily equipment checks, including fluid levels, air filters, equipment damage or leaks, and load security
Inspect loads to ensure they are secure
Operate a forklift when applicable to move pallets or palletized/crated materials around the storage facility
Stack pallets or materials correctly according to inventory control instructions when applicable
Examine products for conformity to quality standards when applicable
Maintain a clean and safe work environment meeting Relogistics standards
Work in extreme conditions including heat, cold, elements, and air particulates
Repetitively lift up to 50–75 pounds and bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts

Requirements

What you’ll need

Prior experience driving a yard truck or semi is a plus, not required
Good math, language, and reading skills with attention to detail
Basic computer skills
High degree of attention required to prevent injury and promote a safe work environment
Understanding that overtime may be required
Ability to work in extreme conditions, including heat, cold, elements, and air particulates
Ability to repeatedly lift 50–75 pounds
Ability to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts of varying lengths
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required, including eye protection, ear protection at several locations, and safety shoes
Close, distance, and color vision abilities required
