About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead technical specification (“design-in”) activities at customers’ R&D centers to secure specification of 3M adhesives and tapes solutions in France and Spain
- Drive growth primarily with automotive accounts and develop opportunities in medical devices, robotics, energy storage, and other high-growth segments
- Build relationships with R&D engineers, designers, and decision-makers at OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers
- Identify and develop new business through account targeting, pipeline development, and specification-based selling
- Conduct competitive and technology intelligence on industry trends, technologies, market players, and application needs
- Collaborate with marketing, R&D, production, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams during design, validation, implementation, and product introduction phases
- Achieve and exceed sales objectives through pipeline, project, and CRM management across France and Spain
- Develop product knowledge and understanding of design principles to promote 3M adhesive and tape technologies
- Present technical concepts and facilitate design workshops
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and customer innovation days to expand networks and generate leads
- Update CRM tools daily
- Share customer feedback and contribute to development of new solutions
- Provide additional support to other South Europe countries in specific cases
- Travel domestically and internationally, potentially up to 40%
Requirements
What you’ll need- Engineering degree or master’s degree in engineering sciences (mechanical engineering, materials science, chemistry, or an equivalent technical field)
- Proven experience in technical sales, business development, or application engineering in the automotive industry and/or relevant high-growth industrial segments
- Demonstrated experience securing “design-in” projects or approved specifications with automotive manufacturers (OEMs), Tier 1 suppliers, or comparable industrial customers
- Demonstrated ability to develop business across multi-country territories, ideally including France and/or Spain
- Proven experience working with cross-functional teams (marketing, R&D, production, supply chain) to support new product introductions
- Good knowledge of major automotive manufacturers, Tier 1 suppliers, and the broader automotive supply chain
- Knowledge of advanced materials, assembly solutions (adhesives and tapes), NVH, thermal management, lightweight structures, or related design-engineering applications
- Experience or understanding of high-growth segments such as medical devices, drones, robotics, energy storage, or industrial automation
- Experience in an international, innovation-driven environment
- Fluency in English as well as French or Spanish
- Resume must be attached in English
