Lead application development including ideation, documentation, feasibility analysis, and validation for battery bonding applications
Collaborate with and guide multiple teams (marketing, external industry partners, customers) to ensure successful application implementation
Provide application support and training to customers, including in-person visits and e-media development in the battery and battery bonding space
Lead and manage field trials and internal testing; analyze and present findings
Monitor and remain ahead of pending changes to industry standards, regulations, and best practices
Drive a company vehicle for customer visits and field work (requires motor vehicle history review)
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures and security standards and contribute to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) culture
Support customer engagement, technical sales/application engineering activities, and cross-functional project work
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Two (2) years of experience providing technical support to customers in technical sales and/or application engineering role in a private, public, government, or military environment
Current, valid Driver’s License
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
Ability/willingness to drive a company vehicle; pre-employment and ongoing motor vehicle history review
May include up to 20% domestic travel
Work location: Onsite; must travel to Maplewood, MN or Livonia, MI at least 4 days per week
Experience in automotive part design, development, and validation
Strong people skills and ability to influence, collaborate, and work with cross-functional teams
Ability and willingness to effectively document technical work and present results
Strong problem solving / troubleshooting skills and willingness to perform hands-on testing
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and accommodate changing circumstances
Experience in the use of adhesive joining techniques for battery pack and BIW assembly
Background in adhesive dispensing technologies and associated validation testing
